oh really? i’m curious what made it feel that good ? 😅😅

I love the way the photos are in order of color and tone. My favorite part of fall is when the temps get cooler and you can smell fire in the fireplaces when you walk down a street. That doesn't happen here in LA in the actual fall, more around December.

Ohhhh yeahhhh a wood fire is a very somatic experience. The crackles the heat the smells. It’s all so good.

Yellow color block is my fave! When fall comes, I get instant nostalgia. Currently, I’m missing the crisp in the air in Brooklyn and my favorite tea shops. In Alabama, we’re still wearing shorts and swatting mosquitoes, haha.

It’s definitely socks with sandals weather 😭 no more warm breezes. I envy the shorts weather but I do enjoy all 4 seasons.

Your montage is so soothing. Love the orange shades. I've been loving collecting autumn leaves, conkers & similar for my youngest autumn bag for nursery. Autumn for me is a release.

Autumn for sure is a release. It conveys so much beauty in its change - I aimed to do the same. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed 😊

I really felt those images transition into a new space—beautiful.

I’m so touched that my piece from a while ago landed with you. It was a tricky one to pick at so my wobbly doubtful bits appreciate the resonance even more. ❤️ and I also am grateful for the other pieces linked there as well. I saved them both so fast.

Top three reads of the week for me.

I sometimes wonder if it is possible to eradicate codependency in humans - a social species living under many times rugged individualism conditions.

It feels like the need to be cared for isn’t done by the whole (govt, community, etc.) so it has to be done by individuals (parents, spouse, etc.).

There’s a larger convo here and wanted to share because your piece opened up so many thoughts in me.

Expand full comment

Totally. Some may say there are even moments where it’s necessary.

From my view, it’s not always capital B bad. I liked learning more about the kind of in between term (in between codependent and counterdependence) of interdependence—we are relying on one another, are affected by one another and also know what is ours inside of us and not someone else’s.

As always insightful! Thanks! Glad you enjoyed my colors lol.

Hard reset: all areas; Fall experience: Merb’s Bionic Apples (Google them, and note that they ship nationwide); Que: transition gradually and gracefully; and Color blocks: orange and merlot/burgandy.

Lol @ all areas. This last week has been like that all the way around 😵‍💫.

Also, you’re so fancy! Burgundy is now Merlot in my book. No exception 💅🏾

Expand full comment

Yes, because Merlot is deeper/richer and has a velvety finish, and you’re so fancy too, I peep the pics from date nights! But we really practice self-care, consistently and we seek and beauty everywhere. Yes, last week was cosmically rough!

Oooh! I love the photo montage so much! You struck such a power pose on the yellow couch, so yellow is my favorite series here.

I would say yellow fits your disposition also. Cheery and bright. Thanks for checking in 🤗

It’s the orange color block for me. Sits right with my soul. Just like autumn :)

Alongside the green, orange was easiest to make. The color seems to follow me around. And now it’s everywhere we look in fall.

The yellow aesthetic was made for me! I’m excited to see the leaves turning into fiery shades of orange and red, that crisp air that begs for cozy sweaters, and let’s not forget the fall fashion which is my absolute favorite! Layering up with chunky knits, leather boots, and all the warm tones? Yes, please. There’s something about this season that feels like a fresh start, a time to slow down and soak it all in. It’s all the more magical to experience in New York. 💛🌆🍂

Fall fashion is my fav too. Chunky leather boots, layers, and a thick scarf 🧣🤤. I live for being warm and snuggly.

My fav pic in the yellow block is the one of the lined up planes. ✈️ Flight is still the greatest invention of the 21st century in my book.

Thanks for checking in.

I need a hard reset with physical activity. 1. Because of hating the cold and 2. Still recovering from Covid

The color palette change is genius; can’t choose a fave because it needs to be on someone wall honestly.

The cues I’m taking from nature this season is to let go and trust even when it hurts..literally
