I love this! Physical reminders of both absence and presence. To answer two of your questions
Physical tokens of love I keep: Cards. I wasn’t intending to, but I now have a box where I keep greetings cards that have thoughtful messages in it from friends, they act as pinpoints for our relationship at a particular time.
Quotes on writing, taken from The Poetry Society Podcast which Mary Ruefle appeared in. Speaking of poetry she shared “You can experience the poem as a phenomenon on earth the way you might experience the ocean itself.
Do you understand the ocean? I don’t, but I sure like it.”
It’s changed how I both write and read poetry, no longer purely seeking for a clear narrative, but an indispensable experience.
I love that you collect cards. I used to take time to handmake the ones I sent but have long fallen off. I love that quote! The magic, the things we can't understand hold the most power in this world and you hit the nail on the head, it's about experiencing life. Thanks for taking the time to read my words
I keep the cards, Maya has sent me on my dresser. I realize even though they are always there, I never pause again to read them over. And now, this reminds me why I should. Thank you!

There's always a message beyond the message.
Grateful to be included in such a tender and romantic ode to friendship, as it’s been a theme of my life this weekend too. Thank you, Rachel!
Thank YOU, for sharing something so tender, Riley.
Rachel, while I was reading this article, it truly felt like a spring breeze, cool and fresh.
I loved it.
What a compliment! I'm so glad you could be right there with me.
Si am I. 💚
