I loved Year of Yes. I found it in New Orleans in one of those little library boxes you see on a street corner, and felt like it was left there for me. So inspiring.

Year of Yes was one of my favorite non-fiction reads when I was in a phase of my life where I knew I wanted and needed a change but was either unsure what was next or not yet courageous enough to go after it. I loved "I grieved a past I no longer fit into, while fearing a future I felt ill-quipped for. " it immediately brought up memories from that time.. or those times*, rather. And now I must journal about them.

Treasure Beach on the south coast. It’s my other home - I’ve been 6 times now, sometimes with my 10-year-old in tow. It’s a haven for writers and creatives. Look up the Calabash Literary Festival aka heaven! I’ll be there for the next edition - May 2025.
