This is so cool. Which part of Brooklyn? My cousin did our families tree and we have an ancestor named George Soule who was on the Mayflower. He was a servant and you can read about him online. It says he was from England but my cousin found out he was Gypsy from a lot of different places! I love discovering stuff like that.
I haven’t traced my history but my maternal grandfather before passing said his people came from Brazil. While my grandmother was raised in St. Vincent but was born in Grenada. The Caribbean is a bunch of island hopping which can make tracking challenging.
This house is on the border of Canarsie and East Flatbush
hahahaha had to let the people know. I'd check them out because they apparently have programming for families and littles. I saw once over the summer they had a flower pressing event.
in this season, legacy means attacking the blank page with curiosity to figure out what i’m thinking; to figure out what legacy means to me and not what the world thinks legacy should be to me. That for me, is legacy.
That’s a very literal way to leave something behind. I think about legacy as it relates to my writing too. Specifically my journals. It’s nice to have something that can be held in hand.
😂 that makes me chuckle - “or whatever represents a book in those times” 🥲 I hope books are still around 🤔 and I do think my life is a movie at times 🎥🍿🥤
Right! The human need for belonging goes so far beyond the physical here and now. Our self concepts crave context in a way that speaks to our larger desire for purpose. Being human is such a precious but complex thing.
"The sturdiest inside the sturdiest." 📝 Word.
😂 I have to make sure the people know.

Didn’t know it existed either and the sturdiest caption really sent me

imagine 100 years from now, some random person found your journal and decided to make it into a book (or whatever represents a book in those times)?

it definitely is. i mean, you crafted a 13-week movie for us. Look around, no one else is doing this lord’s work.
Lmaooo not the lords work!
This is definitely awesome! Tracing ones lineage can be healing and empowering
