When humans were more in tune with nature, the seasons dictated the way of life.
In the spring, seeds get planted after the land is tilled. Summer is all about maintenance - supporting efforts already put in. Autumn remains synonymous with the harvest and enjoying abundance, while in the winter, the farmer rests and sharpens her tools.
When living intuitively, dormancy isn’t a privilege. It’s a critical part of growth.
Yesterday kicked off a special and joy-filled part of the year, bookended by birthdays.
It was my husband’s, and I surprised him with a well-deserved vacation.
After ten months, our time in Massachusetts has ended, we’ve moved out, and to be precise - we plan to enjoy Every. Single. Moment. until we sign a new contract and move again.
I have some additional travel coming up late next month, and in my downtime, I aim to rest deeply, reflect honestly, imagine wildly, connect purposefully, and plan strategically.
You can say I’m harvesting.
As I slow down even further, there’s so much beauty in reducing what I give energy to. It means what my focus does get channeled into is deliberate and precious.
There’s majesty - God - in the dormant.
Which is why this will be my last weekly newsletter until the other bookend, my birthday, in January.
Now, don’t you worry! I won’t go radio silent. I’ll still share updates here and there and maybe more when inspired.
In the meantime, find more of my writing here, as I’ve created some discussion questions for Rich Paul’s, “Lucky Me”, my most recent read.
Keep me in the loop and let me know what you’ve been up to as well. Do you have plans heading into the winter season?
I believe in and love you. Be well.
R.
Looking forward to seeing you back in January!
Thanks Joan! You’ve subscribed right on time. I’m returning to my weekly newsletters this coming Monday. Glad to have you around 🤗
