Hey my loves,
Happy last Monday of the month!
Wild, right? It’s like June walked in and didn’t let anyone know she arrived. Just placed her sandals by the door and took a seat!
I’m not mad, though. Next month is my wedding anniversary (2 years!) and some well-scheduled time off from work, so bring on the 7th month of the year! Despite the downtime, you can be sure these weekly writings will still make their way into your inbox, and this week, I included a treat below.
Let me know your thoughts and feedback, or just drop me a line to say heyyyyyyy!
I recently finished Oona Out of Order, and aside from mild critiques, it was a unique and well-written book. My love of things sci-fi and time travel was satisfied. In short, instead of living life chronologically, her conscious mind jumps to different years in adulthood at the beginning of the year, which is how she found herself 19 in her 51-year-old body and 20 in her 27-year-old body etc. As you can imagine, life becomes challenging for her because she does not understand how her present actions align with future outcomes. She might even live the future before the past!
However, unlike Oona, each of our moments continues to run right into the next, meaning we are living and creating the life ahead of us daily. This got me thinking…
When was the last time I took a full inventory of my life?
Meaning sitting down and doing a complete evaluation of what I consume, practice, and do with and without conscious thought.
The answer: It’s been a while. Since 2019 to be exact.
As a tool to take stock, I created Life Inventory 101: Grow or Let Go, with accompanying reflection questions, to gain insight into what’s going on in my daily.
I’d love for you to join me. I even filled out the first line of the exercise to give you an idea of how it can look.
Here’s what to expect:
This exercise aims to support you in getting a clear picture of how you spend your time. By taking stock, we see the areas where we blossom into our best selves (Grow) and feel blocked from that loving connection (Let Go).
By filling out the worksheet for your habits and routines, each action will fall into the category of Grow or Let Go by the end of the exercise.
Plan your next steps by using the Reflection to discern ways to create more opportunities to Grow and consider less time spent in areas of Let Go.
Simple, right? Time waits for no one.
Let me know your thoughts on Life Inventory 101: Grow or Let Go.
Love Always,
R.
This was a gentle push to take time really self reflect on how I’m allocating my time. I think it’s easy to just function perfunctorily. Making a commitment to take stock this week.
This exercise was great! It allows me to stop and pat myself on the back for the things that are working. It also encourages me to make space for the things that will enable me to grow further and leave behind beliefs, habits, and routines that don’t.
