Effort + Fun = Endurance

Love + Travel turns THREE!

Friday was Love + Travel’s third anniversary.

Three years of living an intention to witness the beauty around me.

Piece by piece I grow into a fuller form of myself.

A woman who sees common threads between flowers and autonomy or emotions and house guests.

I look out at the world, find bits of polarity, and share what jumps out.

With each reflection, the writing comes a little easier.

These days I spend a lot of time on a swing taking it all in.

Since relocating for the summer, these cushions have witnessed me mother, nap, think, and write.

Every so often I toe tap the Earth to continue my sway under the oak’s canopy.

Swings are a contradiction of the best kind.

The way you can hover while seated.

And how touching the ground helps you arc towards the stars.

These contradictions are everywhere.

My favorite is in the act of writing where fun and effort act as a dynamic pair.

I find the human spirit needs both.

Interest to stay curious and investment to stay committed.

The combination gives me the endurance to keep writing.

To keep showing up in your inbox.

To keep looking out at the world with kind eyes and an open heart.
